Losing belly fat is a concern of many people today. One of the main reasons to keep excess belly fat away is that the belly fat causes more health problems and can also up the increase risk for severe medical issues like heart disease.
There are many steps in ensuring that you are able to lose the belly fat and keep it off. There are "magic pills" out there that have the promise of taking away belly fat however most of them contain harmful ingredients and stimulants that are simply not as good for your health and body as other options. There are also the promises of various workouts to help you lose the belly fat in a quicker amount of time.
However most health professionals would agree that there is no magic cure or magic work out that will get results any faster than simple good hard exercise and toning techniques and a diet that is comprised of healthier choices.
One of the main reasons that excess fat is stored in the stomach is that it is the easiest place for the body to store the excess fat that comes onto the body when you are consuming more calories than you are burning on a regular basis.
Tips For You
- One thing to consider when trying to loose belly fat is the amount of carbonated beverages that you drink. Carbonated beverages are often blamed by health care professionals as one of the worst things that you can drink if you are trying to lose belly fat, and carbonated beverages include but are not limited to soft drinks, diet soft drinks and beer. Other foods to eat more of are foods high in fiber. These can include yogurt, berries, whole grain bread items like bagels and such.
- I have also seen where a lot of diets have claimed that eating grapefruit for breakfast or even multiple servings of grapefruit in a day will help you to lose belly weight faster. I am not sure about this and have not tried it out so therefore I have only the claims that I have heard about. It is also a good idea to avoid the over consumption of starches and white breads. It is always better to be consuming more complex carbohydrates that are requiring your body to burn more calories.
- The best toning exercises for toning the abdominal muscles are doing crunches. There are many modifications to crunches to assist you in toning every part of your stomach and core. Some of the exercises that are commonly related to losing belly fat are regular crunches, side crunches, reverse crunches and even performing these crunches on a stability ball will help you to be able to make the most of your workouts and tone up more quickly.
- There are also some good core strength training moves that help you to be able to tone up the stomach area including the popular exercise called the plank where you are in a plank or raised push up position and you hold that pose. What I have seen suggested for this exercise is to hold the plank anywhere from 30-90 seconds at 1-5 repetitions for 3-5 times per day. Also simply replacing your desk chair with a stability ball will help you in this area as you would be working out the core muscles more simply by sitting and doing all of the things that you typically do while sitting. There are many ways to do each of these exercises and the best way to find out what will work best for you is to contact a personal trainer and discuss your body type of your fitness goals.
- However if you are unable to afford that you can always try one of the many workout DVDs targeted at toning your abdominal muscles. My personal favorite is the Slim 'N' 6-Pack DVD from the Slim 'N' 6 DVD series. I have tried other videos but have just not enjoyed them as much. I do not have a 6-pack however but I did notice a big difference when doing this video in comparison with others.
- Obviously the simplest way to reduce body fat in any area is through diet and exercise and consuming less calories than you are burning therefore your body will begin to store the excess fat to continue to work. Also being sure to tone and strength train so that your body has more muscle helps as muscle burns more calories on a regular basis.
- However it is unrealistic to think about losing the weight too fast as it can cause some major health problems for you. Speaking with your medical doctor about your goals and what you would like to accomplish in the ways of losing weight is always a good idea and can be a way for you to be able to set a goal that is healthy and realistic for the time that you would like to lose the weight and how you are going to go about doing so.
