Tips For You

How to Approach Your Diet

  1. Examine your current diet and replace red meats and pork products with fish and chicken - or even better, tofu. By eliminating heavy meats from your diet, there is less chance of bloating and gastrointestinal problems.
  2. Make sure to have an appropriate amount of fiber in your diet to keep you functioning effectively. This can be done by adding fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains to your food intake.
  3. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  4. When sitting down to eat a delicious meal, make sure that your portions are enough to achieve satiety and not enormous portions meant for multiple servings.
  5. Nutritionists have been touting the concept of intuitive eating for the past decade, and there is certainly something to it. Eat when you are hungry, and then eat only until you feel full. You do not want to be painfully full, but satiated.

Being Active

  1. For those distances that a car is more of a convenience than a necessity, strap on your athletic shoes and walk. Doing so will keep your heart rate and your body burning the food that you have consumed throughout the day.
  2. Join a gym. For the span of 10 days, a gym may seem like a silly idea, but doing so will allow you to remain healthy and in better shape. Weight training helps to tighten and tone, two things that make your body seem longer and more slim.
  3. Remember, cardiovascular activity decreases weight gain and fat storage. Walk when you would drive, jog when you might otherwise walk. Increased activity, and especially getting more cardiovascular exercise, increases your chances of being a slimmer you.
