Zumba – An Amazingly Effective And New Way Towards Losing Weight Faster

When 25-year-old celebrity fashion counsellor and part time fitness instructor, Ruchi Mehrotra walks into her Andheri studio, her class starts to feel the energy that's about to begin. Ruchi greets them with a smile and plays some great salsa music as they Zumba in sync with great enthusiasm. "It's amazing how they move in sync without much practice. I don't talk; just let them move to the beats on their own accord," says the fitness instructor. The weight loss industry has witness a surge of interest from people in all walks of life. Lifestyle blogs are talking about fitness everywhere. And zumba has now become nothing less than a celebrity fashion that everyone wants to follow.

Zumba is the in thing and we feel it's here to stay. People like the idea that it projects – forget the workout, join the fun! But very few people know that Zumba was actually discovered in an accident. I recently read it on a fashion website about it and started my research on it. While browsing through various lifestyle blogs, I fell upon the history of this new type of workout called Zumba. I like to call it dancercise! Turns out a fitness instructor who took aerobic classes came to the studio only to realize later that he had forgotten his music dvd back home. So he just put on whatever he could lay his hands on (apparently he had a mix of salsa and meringue) and that was the beginning of Zumba.

The class naturally enjoyed a lot more than what they otherwise did. It was a fun and welcome change. And soon this became a favorite way of working out and losing weight. The success of Zumba grew steadily as more and more Lifestyle blogs were writing about it and today there are an estimated 4 million Zumba enthusiasts and 25,000 instructors in 40 countries!

Barring any doctor's limitations this type of exercise is fit for people between a large range of ages. Mostly because the steps can easily be modified.
